A Tasty Red Wine Suggestion

April 11th, 2008 by Pam

red wine glassYou cannot enjoy a fine Italian dinner without a bottle of wine. You can try but you’d be missing out on so much flavor and authenticity. Enjoy Italian food the way it’s meant to be – severed with red wine.

Let me start you off with matching a great wine to sip alone or have with dinner. This is my personal favorite and the price is right. I like to drink this wine while I’m preparing sauces and pastas, as well as with the dinner itself.

Cavit’s Pinot Noir, Italy - This rich red wine is sourced from Northern Italy’s historic Pavia area. It has a berry and black cherry aroma and flavor and is very smooth in texture. Although it’s claim to fame is serving with grilled meats, salmon, chicken and risottos (which all go great with my Italian marinara sauce), I love it with spaghetti and meatballs. The price isn’t too bad either. A 1.5 liter bottle of Cavit’s Pinot Noir is just $15.00.

After you try it, let me know what your thoughts are. Or if you have a better selection, share it with me.
